Message from Martin Pyle, President,
Bellevue Chamber of Commerce

"What a GREAT Chamber meeting we had this month!
  • Dr. Jesse Register of MNPS discussed his plans for our Public Schools.
  • Susan Huffard (from Midtown Mortgage) and Jenny Bradley (from Caris Healthcare) gave a "wrap-up" for the 2009 Picnic.
  • Scott Burley (of Sam's Club) reported on the progress made by the Executive Director search committee.
  • April Lovelace from HOMEWOOD RESIDENCE placed her company in the SPOTLIGHT. The CASH PRIZE of $300.....went UNCLAIMED!

Again, thanks to everyone who pulled together to make this year's picnic a
GREAT--albeit wet--EVENT!

Bellevue Goes Green

Bellevue residents have a second option, curbside pickup, to participate in the Davidson county recycling program. There may be some things you are not aware of regarding the current recycling option of using the recycle center on Highway 70S at Interstate 40 (entrance on Coley Davis Road). The Bellevue Recycling Center produces the second highest volume of recycled materials of any center in Davidson county. Volunteers with the Fifty Forward J. L. Turner Center assist the Metro Public Works Department in maintenance of the Bellevue Recycle Center. For their assistance, the Bellevue Transportation Project receives a portion of the funds recovered by Metro Public Works from the sale of these recycled materials. So, recycling is not only the right thing to do it; also provides resources for the community.
